Mr. A S M Shakil Haider

Mr. ASM Shakil Haider is a PhD Candidate of Applied Economics at Texas Tech University, USA. His dissertation focuses on President Trump’s Immigration Policy Effect on Crime, Crime Spillover effect on the economy and Impact of Convict-Rehabilitation Program on the Economy of the United States of America.

Mr Haider had the opportunity and honor to work with Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus on his concept of Microfinance and Social Business. One of his current research focuses on mathematical modeling regarding proving the optimality of Agro-Social Business through the lens of contract theory.
Prior to join Texas Tech, Mr Haider worked as a Graduate Researcher of Economics at University of Southampton, UK (funded by Economic & Social Research Council, UK). Mr Haider earned his MA in Economics degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), USA in December, 2011. Furthermore, he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from North South University, Bangladesh with Magna Cum Laude Distinction (majors: Finance, Economics) in the year of 2009.

Regarding Mr Haider’s work experience, Mr Haider started his career as a Lecturer of Statistics and Economics at North South University’s (NSU) School of Business and Economics. After serving at NSU for 2 years, Mr Haider worked for BRAC University for about a year. Meanwhile, Mr Haider was in HEC-Paris, France for the Social Business Training and Research program

Considering his other information, Mr. Haider is formally trained in eastern classical singing and guitar. He is also fluent in playing Sarod (Indian Classical Instrument). Currently he is the Lead Vocalist and Guitarist of the band Flying Roots.
